God is not here….please leave a message!

“The more you begin to investigate what we think we understand, where we came from, what we think we’re doing, the more you begin to see we’ve been lied to……. we have been miss lead away from the true and divine presence in the universe that men have called God. I don’t know what God is, but I know what he isn’t. And unless, and until you are prepared to look at the whole truth, where ever it may go, who ever it may lead to, if you want to look the other way or if you want to play favorites, then somewhere along the line your gonna find out your messing with divine justice. The more you educate yourself, the more you understand where things come from the more obvious things become and you begin to see lies everywhere. You have to know the truth and seek the truth and the truth will set you free.”

Ever since I was young I have had questions. My math teachers in high school would hate me because I would as them “why,” so much. “Why do we take that step?” “why do we use that formula?” You would think a teacher would be thrilled with that kind of will to learn and understand, but not the ones who couldn’t give you an answer.  I find that I ask “why” to a lot of things in life but one thing that I cant even begin to grasp is Christianity. Why do they do, say, believe, worship the way they do?

I’m sure you don’t know me very well so let me tell you a bit about myself. I have never been known for my social graces.  I can come off  as abrasive when I am passionate.   I don’t pretend to be a God expert, and heaven knows I don’t have all the answers. In fact I rarely feel I need them. I just like to push people to think a little deeper.

I am hesitant in writing on this particular topic because it is a difficult subject for people to be open minded about. It is on such a personal level when you are questioned about your faith, it is only natural for you to become defensive. I completely understand the natural human reaction to fight for what you believe in. But with something so personal as faith, shouldn’t it be our own? Shouldn’t we all have our own takes on it and be open and accepting to others opinions? You would think that. I can’t tell you how many times I have been cursed at, told I’m going to hell (by my own family members), been told “God loves you, but I think your an asshole,” or just been flat out threatened from people who claim to be devoted to God. So I know by speaking on the Christian belief I am subjecting myself to scrutiny, and malice, but  I am not the kind of person to purposely offend people, my opinions are strictly that, and I do not mean to anger anyone. This isn’t about denying God or bashing anyone’s belief. this is a subject I feel very strongly about and I have been silent on for too long… I have questions. Lots of questions.

Also… I  ask that you give me an open ear and mind when reading my blogs for they will go into more detail about my past relationship with god, my opinions on certain modern methods in the christian churches, the bible, religion in movies etc., and how state and church are indeed intertwined. We, as Gods children, have been miss lead away from the truth and light of who we know as God, by the same people who gave us a secretive government and corrupt education.

I choose to be saved about 5 months ago. It was the best decision I have ever made. I am 28 years old and it defintly took way to long for me to find the way. Before that my life was a constant struggle, I always thought that I had the answers but the truth is there is only one place to go to get the right answers. I’m not saying that I don’t struggle anymore but there has been a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. I am looking forward to what you have to say in future blogs.

I agree alot with the direction your going on this blog. Why do we revolve our life’s around an “out-dated” text, and why should this book dictate the guidlines of billions of people’s lifes, past and present? I’ve watched Zeitgeist many times and I would recommend everyone to watch it. It’s a very mind opening movie.
I acually got the idea for my blog from Zeitgeist II Addendum. You should check that one out, if you havent already.
