Family Guy
What would the world be like if religion never existed? There are so many creative theories that the possibilities are endless. Our ideals of right and wrong would certainly be effected. Aside from a moral guideline that we pretty much are born with, the things like sex before marriage, Gay marriage and so on would be looked at in a different light. Some possibilities are portrayed in the media, however rarely. The idea of religion never existing in the positive sense can be distasteful to some people. So the idea of a comical view can be down right offensive.
Me and my boyfriend have a very strong belief that comedy should not be censored nor should it always be nice. Some of the funniest comedians are rude and crude and even obnoxious. But the shock value in some things that are said may be the thing that makes us laugh the loudest and the hardest…or could hold some truth behind it. Which is why we love family guy so much.
The latest episode of family guy we watched was pertaining to the mulitverse theory. The intellectual family dog, Brian, and the devious and passably gay baby, Stewie, travel the parallel universes and come across one where Christianity had never existed.
The writers of family guys take on what it would be, looked like an episode of the jetsons. Flying cars, moving sidewalks, even a program that allows dogs to ” number 2″ with out anyone having to clean it up. Stewie proseeds to tell brian all about this other universe. He explains that since christianity never existed “The dark ages of scientific ropression never occured and thus humanity is a thousand years more advanced.”
The idea of things being better of with out the ideals of religon and sin can be offensive to some who believe otherwise differently. We are all free thinkers and though this episode of family guy does hold creative ideas and humor, it doesn’t change anything. Yet people put off by this kind of humor. Should regilon be a taboo subject in comedy? before you answer this, remember George Carlon, one of the greatest comedians of all time.

I really respect you as a Christian, one who can see humor and does not get offend by cartoons. There are too many “Christians” who are hypocritical to free thinking and creativity. I believe if something offends you, turn it off God gave you choices.

People play with religion too much. I understand we all need to laugh but Religion is for the heart and soul not to please or stimulate the mind. Believe in God, live your life with love and compassion for this world and you wont have to worry about your beliefs you will know and not wonder.

I don’t think there is anything wrong with using religion in comedy because for me religion is nothing what’s important is believing is God Father, son and holy spirit.

i dont think that there is anything wrong with religion being apart of come. there are many touchy subjects out there that are laughed about everyday. no one forces anyone to watch what they find to be disrespectful for. comedians are there to entertain, not everyone takes religion as seriously as others but most hold a respect for it and others beliefs. even the comedians
